It has come to our attention that we need to be a little more clear on the video editing process so I’m writing a little blog post about what works best. This should hopefully clear up any confusion.

PROCESS OVERVIEW (see below for instructions)

1. Put together the clips we want to use for your highlights video
2. Review and approve the clips to be used in the final video (see section below)
3. Email us any changes or modifications to be made (see section below)
4. Confirm video portion is ready to go and done
5. Video clips are locked down at this point
6. Change requests to video clips after this step will incur additional fees
7. Play music and audio underneath the video at home
8. Find which songs and audio you like best and send us the full digital version you want to use – keep in mind there are usually several versions of any given song
9. We will edit the video clips along to the music you selected and add effects and audio transitions if available
10. Check your email for a new video posted online
11. Watch the new video from the link sent and follow the same review steps below for minor changes
12. Send us an approval email that the final video is ready to go on your DVD
13. Obvious mistakes will be happily fixed if they are found on your DVD after shipment
14. Additional costs are required for edits past this point

REVIEW INSTRUCTIONS

1. Watch the video at least 2 times all the way through
2. Do not worry about how long or short the video clips are when reviewing the video section - their duration will change depending on the music, audio and flow of the final video with audio and music.
3. Watch the video one last time with a pen and paper ready
4. Pause your video where clips should be removed or added
5. Write these times down along with notes in this time format: MM:SS
6. Keep in mind there are other documentary videos you might not have seen yet. Documentary videos contain video of all of your wedding. Most of our packages include 3 different videos on the DVD. For a description about highlights vs documentary click here.
7. Email us the changes you require along with the exact times: MM:SS – MM:SS (remove this clip for example)
8. We will make your requested changes and then post another version of the video
9. Repeat from step 1 with future updates and changes to the video when we send you another link
10. If necessary, compare each editing version of the video with the previous links. We usually keep 1 or 2 previous video edits online and active.
11. When your video section is locked down, play different songs underneath the video to see what you like. Then email us these songs in a digital format. We prefer if you send us the mp3 files to service@inspiritmedia.com
12. After we post your final video online, review it one last time and send us an A-OK email that the video is ready for your DVD.

By following this process, it allows us to custom tailor your video and also speeds up the editing process. After we have agreed on the video clips and finished the video or audio section, if additional changes are requested, these are pro-rated at $75 per hour. However, we may need to add clips based on the music selections and you will have the opportunity to change these if need be. 

Most of the time any changes after we lock down the video section and move onto the music/audio equates to around an hour for editing. You will of course be sent an estimate before any changes are made.
